Podcasting for the Small Business Owner
Podcasts are all the rage for promoting your voice, your brand, and your products. It’s a relatively simple set up that can create a big impact for your brand. But, it is a highly watered down environment... Everyone seems to be creating a podcast. So how do you make yourself stand out? How does one add yet another endeavor into their entrepreneurial and already swamped life?
The Mentorship Goal
Yes, I have co-founded a business and want to make a difference in combating laptop theft, but I also want to share my journey. I want to share my entrepreneurial lessons and be a mentor for those starting out on their own entrepreneurial journeys.
I started The $7 an Hour Entrepreneur because I could not have gotten to where I was without my previous mentors in the business. My goal is to turn it into a successful podcast!
I can’t always go out and network like I did in my 20s and 30s. There is something to be said for shaking hands at networking events but podcasting is another way to connect with listeners and even guests. So I’ve actually just started my own first podcast called Elevate to Imagine, which basically takes a look at other entrepreneurs and their new fresh ideas.
Leveraging Virtual Staff
As I build my bank of episodes, I’ve leveraged my virtual staff to handle the operational commitment:
- Research the podcasting equipment needed
- Put together a schedule for releasing episodes
- Discover potential candidates to join me as guests
- Creating the cover art
- Repurposing content on different social channels
- Editing + producing the actual podcast!
Virtual staff may not be exactly specialized like a full time editing firm however they can do these tasks while still growing your brand. SAS offers these services at an extremely affordable rate.
Start a podcast and watch as you become an even more authoritative figure within your brand.
